Neomie Tavernier

Registered Architect, LEED Green Associate,
BIA President, CAA Women Leaders

Neomie is a Dominican-born Architect who has lived and worked in Barbados since achieving her professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State University, USA in 2006.

 

Over the years her experience has ranged from residential to various types of commercial and civic projects where she has fostered her interest in the pleasant expression of the juxtaposition of structure and environment.  As a professional she attained her LEED Green Associate accreditation in 2010 and her Architectural Registration in 2016.  She has also served in the role of President of the BIA and sits on the CAA Women Leaders group where she is an advocate for women leaders within the construction industry.  As an individual, she is an active member of her community who works with children and has a love of island life and water sports.

 

Having newly joined the GSA team in 2023, Neomie hopes to further develop herself and contribute through collaboration and with creative and sustainable responses to the architecture of Barbados and the wider Caribbean Region.
